Mercury cycle coaching have found after many years of coaching that a holistic package covers most athletes needs and Is flexible enough to suit most lifestyles.

So book a 1:1meeting with your MERCURY coach and carry out a short benchmarking test which will establish your:

Current fitness levels
Heart rate training zones
Body composition analysis
Establish power to weight ratio
Functional thresholds

Then agree with the coach exactly what you want to achieve in the short med and long term by going through our planning process.

COSTS-£120 one off fee

What Next?

MERCURY will then prepare a written personal report and make recommendations re future training.  A follow up meeting is then arranged to help set up the athlete so they are ready to start training to a newly prepared structured training programme.

Following this programme wil enable you to:

Achieve a greater level of fitness than you would have achieved left to your own devices
Will let you set S.M.A.R.T.FITNESS GOALs
The coach will carefully monitor your progress throughout the period
It will make best use of your available time and the programme will be personalized to suit you
The riders equipment and bike position will be reviewed
Nutritional help can be given
VO2 MAX AND METABOLIC analysis can be arranged

Throughout the process you will have access to your mentor and coach on an unlimited basis.

Weekly and monthly training prgrammes will be prepared and emailed to you for actioning and giving feedback.

During the first 3 months we would expect a rider to make gains on initial test results of between ½% to 1% per week.

Monthly costs are £75** paid in advance and includes a monthly ramp test to check on progress.

But remember nothing great was achieved without commitment and enthusiasm!!

VO2 Assessments

dico_oct_2008_002.jpgWorking hard regularly doesn`t mean your training efficiently. Many recreational athletes often train hard and long and use general training programs that they have received from friends, club mates or even read in running and cycling magazines.

The chances are these programs will suit some athletes but each athlete is different and has a different profile eg heart rate is generally not 220 minus age and diets should be tailored for each athlete individually and training heart rate zones are often misunderstood and misused.

So what can you about this situation, continue to underperform or take action.  We utilise the very latest technolgy, and by attending the Mercury clinic for a full assessment, you could walk away with a training program that has enabled many athletes to acheive optimum performances and personal bests. Our assessment can also help people who just want to lose weight and want to feel better.

Testing is simple and very effective and all our assessors are athletes who understand your needs.
