The annual prep camp was run off in fantastic weather and with a super enthusiastic bunch of riders made it a memorable week and some of the riders were kind enough to send us the feedback shown below:
Dave Lloyd Says.... "What a fantastic week we have just had with a diverse group of athletes at Terry Bell's Training Camp in Arnside in the Lake District.. This must have been one of the best Camps I have attended.. The weather was just magnificent and the rides were superb. One day we did the reverse of the Howgill Hammer Sportive and the next the reverse of the Cumbrian Killer Sportive.
The general idea behind the `prep` is to help a rider/athlete
understand that whilst training is 65% physical and 35% mental
preparation, the camp lecturers deal with that side of the equation, by
the simple premise that 2 minds on a problem are better than one but
multiple minds can magnify the gains.
We also touched on technology and how it can help improve a rider`s performance. Add the above together and we can achieve great things!
Based in the Lake District
April 12-18th 2010 at Arnside YHA.
Join Terry Bell and Dave Lloyd for our second annual training camp held in the beautiful and stunning south Lake District , for 7 days of superb preparatory training and learn under expert tutors how to tackle its most famous mountain passes including Hardknott and Wrynose passes from both sides plus the `Struggle`and numerous other 30% climbs, many little known. The camp is designed to help endurance athletes of all disciplines and abilities to prepare scientifically for the 2010 season. The coaching team will teach you how to identify your strengths and weaknesses, how to develop a periodization plan and then how to improve the results of each phase of your training. Each athlete will be offered the chance to go through a series of personal physical and bio-mechanical tests that will set a individual benchmark for future development. The tests will help each athlete better understand baseline abilities and then use this information, along with past data to dramatically improve on previous performances.
